Arsenic in Your Food

Arsenic in Your Food | Consumer Reports Investigation

I just ate some take out rice and had to hope that it was prepared the proper way.  I am assuming since it was mushy and tasteless that it was probably rinsed... but who knows.

It seems as though you play Russian Roulette when you buy food these days...   you aren't safe buying Beef, Rice, even vegetables have pesticides and e coli or other things on them..   You can't starve so I guess you just have to figure out ways to build your immune system to be able to handle anything you attempt to eat these days.

The only way to totally control your food is to grow your own food in a green house using filtered water and Organic seeds and hope that no run off water seeps in anywhere.    But since this isn't too realistic for most people you have to take your chances.    My recommendation is to take loads of Antioxidants.   I am trying a new one and will comment in a couple of weeks whether I feel a difference.

Stay as healthy as you can and try and make the best choices you can.

Canadians Waste $27 Billion Worth Of Food Every Year

Strombo | What A Waste: New Study Says Canadians Waste $27 Billion Worth Of Food Every Year

I had to throw out 3 bags of mostly food waste because of food rotting in my fridge..  sometimes I think it's better to eat out just what you want to eat each day to prevent all the perishable food from being dumped.

The city removes free food from Occupy's community garden.

The Right for Food for those in need.

I believe that it is the right of EVERYONE to have basic food and clean water at the least.   That's why this act by the city is so very sad and once again a loss for the people that need it most.   If there are no jobs there are no opportunities to earn a living to buy food.   If people make minimum wage and have to pay rent in this city they usually have to sacrifice food in order to keep a roof over their head to keep that minimum wage job as many employers won't hire people without a permanent address.

There is a community group called Not Far from the Tree that will pick produce from public spaces to feed the most vulnerable.

I see nothing wrong with planting a sustaining garden for people that don't have places they can get food.   It would be different if illegal drugs were planted but to remove cherry tomatoes because it's considered mischief is ridiculous.  Once again this shows why so many people have to turn to food banks in the city.   The need for food banks ever increases while the ways to find a way to lessen the need for them doesn't.
